Sunday 6/3: Re*Form School for Aerial Acts
12:00-2:30p @ Aircraft Aerial Arts, Somerville MA
Show Re*Form School description...
Bring your acts to the most supportive (and fun) reform school in existence!
In this group collaborative workshop, we'll begin to analyze aerial pieces - from sequences to fully set acts. We'll move acts towards completion, clean them up, and make them more vibrant and meaningful. As a group, and individually, we'll look at sequencing, form, character, pacing... and we'll leave with ideas for growth, improvement, and change. Come prepared with an open heart and mind and a willingness to both explore your work and contribute thoughts to others. Your Re*Form school founder and director, Amanda Goble, has a firm and clear, yet supportive and encouraging, coaching style.
Partner and group acts are welcome and encouraged, but each student may only focus on one act within the three hours (if you have a solo and a duo, please choose one). Following a quick, but thorough, warm-up, class will be structured to allow for individual and group work and discussion and will be paced to allow for physical breaks. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to get changed and settled, and bring a pen and a notebook to class.
At time of registration, please let Aircraft or Amanda know what apparatus you will need, if you are in a solo or a duo/group (and who your partner is, if a duo/group), and how long your act or sequence is, approximately.
(Pre-requisites: Students will need to be able to perform their sequences and sections multiple times, throughout the course of the workshop. Students must have safely mastered tricks/skills in their sequences, without instruction or physical assistance. Students unsure if they have met the prerequisites are encouraged to contact Amanda. $65 per person, through Aircraft.)
Amanda Goble is available for aerial and movement workshops and residencies nationwide, and beyond. Please visit the contact page if you would like arrange a workshop in your area.
